This is a 62 TR3B my Dad acquired May 2, 1970 just before my 5th birthday. Dad taught me to drive in this car when I was 8. I drove the car often to school and around VA Beach. I love the fact that some of my high school friends remember the car and driving in it and have a little surprised for them in store.
I was a little overwhelmed about making this into a total disaster. (Well, not making it a disaster I should say) One day we saw a perfect 1958 red TR3 so we stalked the driver to seek his council. We met Paul, the owner, at a local diner and we shared our stories about our cars. Paul mentioned a friend who was rebuilding a 1958 TR3 and thought he lived near me. He called Frank and they came over to see my TR. It must have been very obvious to these two that if they didn't step in and help this poor sap a potentially awesome car would be lost. Without their help and tools, I now know this project would never be completed. I hope I can repay the generosity to some other complete idiot who has a TR whatever and wants to restore it.
Special thanks to Mike and Bill for tools and trailer and the neighbors recruited to help move the car every now and then.
